Community Coach Mentors

The Community Coach Mentor Program aims to provide support for the local community and its youth by matching talented youth to opportunities in out of school hours. Community Coach Mentors connect high school students to younger students in our existing After School Enrichment and First Tee of Eagle County Programs. By training high school mentors, we are offering life and job skills to the students and utilizing them as role models for younger children in the community. Student mentors in our existing programs have found ways to succeed in life and care enough to pass those lessons along to younger students.

The program provides Student Mentors an opportunity to develop leadership skills and personal self-development while providing a positive experience for youth “mentee” participants. For many mentors, the rewards of mentoring include an increase in personal enrichment, happiness, and self-knowledge.

We have identified the following objectives for Student Mentoring:

  • Empowering youth to develop a sense of self and resilience
  • Develop productive social networks
  • Develop respect for self, family, and community members
  • Develop moral and ethical character, pride, and virtues
  • Develop a sense of civic-mindfulness
  • Develop constructive behavior – yielding positive attitudes, healthy lifestyles, and career exploration.
