Jim Allen

Jim Allen was born in 1935, grew up mainly in Wichita, Kansas, and graduated from Wichita State University in 1957.

In 1962, he founded Falcon Manufacturing, Inc. in Wichita to produce EPS foam products, used principally for building insulation. He remained its Chairman and CEO until the Falcon companies were sold to a Fortune 500 company in 1995 and 1997.

Jim joined the Kansas chapter of YPO in 1967, and was active in many capacities in several chapters, including being Chairman of the Los Angeles Chapter in 1984. He was invited to join as its CEO in 1984.

Since 1999, he has been Chairman/CEO of the Vail Valley Jet Center, one of the largest full service FBO's in the U. S.

He is The Youth Foundation's former Board Chairman. Jim also demonstrates his commitment to local youth through serving as Co-Trustee of the Hawkins Foundation, which provides scholarships for inner-city youth from Washington, DC.

He is also a board member of Hidden Harvest of Coachella, CA. This organization gleans leftover produce and distributes it to charitable organizations in the Coachella Valley. Through his charitable foundation, he supports many other causes.

Jim was a founder and serves on the Board of Directors of The Reserve, a private residential golf community in Indian Wells, California.

He earned his pilot's license in 1953, and has accumulated over 6000 hours as a commercial, multi-engine, instrument rated pilot.

He and Barbie were married in 1973 and have two children. Their daughter Karen, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren live near Wichita. Their son Matthew lives and works in Beijing.

Jim loves golf, skiing, boating, water sports, and travel.

While Jim has a powerful voice in business and entrepreneurism, he also understands the plight of real families in the Eagle Valley. We are privileged to have Jim at The Youth Foundation.
